Meatless meals are a great way to stretch your food budget. They are also usually healthy for your family. One of our favorite frugal meals is cabbage and noodles. It takes a while to make the dish, but it is delicious, and also inexpensive.
Even though the summer months will soon be upon us, I still make crock pot chili for my family every so often. The recipe is easy to make, and somewhat inexpensive. By purchasing ingredients on sale, and using what I have on hand in our pantry, I can feed our family with this meal for under $10.
Banana bread is a regular item on the menu at our house, mostly because my children love to eat bananas. However, it seems like either I buy too many bananas, or they get overly ripe before we have a chance to eat them. Instead of throwing away the overly ripe bananas, we just make banana bread. It’s a frugal way to use up those bananas, it’s easy to make, and the kids love it.
I’m allergic to wheat and milk, which can make life pretty boring in the food department. I have to admit that I don’t always stick to my wheat and dairy-free diet like I should, but I have a cookbook that helps me to add variety to my meals planning.
