I’ve never felt that carpeting a floor in a child’s room was a great idea.¬† Firstly, kids can be messy and some stains are just impossible to get out. Secondly, if your child has severe¬†allergies or asthma, carpeting can cause some health problems.


I love personalizing my home with unique items in a way that fits my family’s lifestyle. I also love saving money. This is why I so enjoy shopping flea markets, looking for vintage items that will fit into my home’s decor.¬† I’m also a fan of thrift shops, bargain basement stores, eBay, and Craigslist. But for this article, I’ll try to focus on cheap decorating with flea market finds.


I remember visiting friends who had children when I was younger.¬† I noticed that many of them did little decorating, and that the decorating they did was very simple and utilitarian.¬† Now that I have a large family,¬† I understand.¬† Here are some decorating tips for those of you with active families. Do you have trouble getting your child to clean her room? I do too.¬† In fact, yesterday, I went to open up the door to my older girls’ room and I could not open the door but a crack. There was so much STUFF up against the door that I literally could not open it up!¬† When I went to discuss this with my girls, they both confessed to me that if we could just move and get them a bigger room, they would promise to keep it clean!


When I lived north of the Mason Dixon line, the imaginary line that divides the Southern and Northern USA, my favorite season was Fall.  I loved to watch the leaves change colors and I enjoyed the cooler days and nights.
